The beloved MP3-era music player is teaming up with Deezer to launch a subscription streaming service next year.

French music platform Deezer has launched a free online tool to detect AI-generated tracks in playlists, available to users of all major streaming platforms, it said on Thursday. The company is also licensing its AI-detection technology to the wider music industry, building on earlier deals like the one it signed with France’s royalty agency Sacem in January.

Deezer, which competes with Spotify and Apple Music in the crowded music streaming market, said it would introduce a new unified platform for businesses to boost its AI-detection and advertising offering. The company also renewed its partnership with Sonos, expanding the collaboration to include ad-supported monetization on Sonos Radio through the Deezer Ad Exchange.
Music streaming platform Deezer has licensed its artificial intelligence-detection technology to France's royalty agency Sacem in a landmark commercial deal to combat music fraud, as the company pursues wider industry adoption for the tool. France-based Deezer said it successfully identified and removed up to 85% of fraudulent AI-generated music streams from its royalty pool in 2025, flagging over 13.4 million AI tracks. Deezer's royalty pool comprises 70% of subscriber revenue, according to CEO Alexis Lanternier.

Udio's rival Suno, which raised $250 million at $2.45 billion valuation, has also been caught in a copyright dispute with Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony Music Group.
