Shares of egg and butter company Vital Farms (NASDAQ:VITL) fell 9% in the afternoon session after Axios reported on Sept. 16 that Vital Farms is weighing strategic alternatives, including a take-private. Axios said the market value had fallen more than 80%, from a $2.3 billion peak last September to about $430 million, or around $10 a share. Wednesday’s price is back at that level.
