Bridge Green, Hartree Set Eight-Year Recycled Lithium Deal

Hartree will market about 10,000 tonnes a year, while investing in Bridge Green’s planned recycling and refining expansion.

Bridge Green Upcycle and Hartree Partners agreed to an eight-year deal covering about 10,000 tonnes of recycled lithium carbonate a year. The arrangement is valued at $500 million to $1 billion at current market prices, the companies said.

Hartree will buy and market the lithium carbonate, with exclusive marketing rights to Bridge Green’s production during the contract. The parties can extend the agreement for another seven years.

The value is an estimate, not guaranteed revenue. Bridge Green said it depends on delivered volumes and lithium prices, so both the amount produced and market conditions will affect the final total.

Hartree is also investing in Bridge Green’s bridge financing round. The companies did not disclose the size of the investment, which is intended to support the recycler’s expansion plans.

The first deliveries are projected for 2028. That timing leaves a gap between signing the deal and supplying Hartree, while Bridge Green works to expand recycling and refining operations in the United States and India.

Bridge Green commissioned its Circularity Center India in the second quarter of 2026. The facility is designed to process about 7,200 tonnes of lithium-ion battery material annually, but that figure measures battery input, not lithium carbonate output.

The difference matters: the center’s stated input capacity alone does not establish how the company will reach the agreement’s annual carbonate volume. Bridge Green says a future Series A funding round is expected to support integrated refining facilities in both countries.

For Hartree, the deal adds a planned recycled-lithium source and a route to market its output. The next milestones are financing, facility expansion and the start of deliveries; until then, the annual volume remains a contractual target rather than established production.
