HPE Leads S&P 500 After Investor Day Boost

Hewlett Packard Enterprise shares are pacing for a 10% weekly gain after new forecasts and an AMD server order drew analyst upgrades.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise shares were pacing for a 10% gain this week after the company’s investor day drew a positive response from Wall Street. The stock was the S&P 500’s biggest gainer this week, according to AlphaSpace data, and set record highs on Wednesday and Thursday.

As of Friday afternoon, HPE shares traded at $69.96, up 8.33% from the previous close. The source article said the stock’s year-to-date gain had reached 189%.

Before the investor day, HPE announced a $1.2 billion order from privately held cloud infrastructure company Vultr. The deal is for HPE to deploy its Helios AI server racks, powered by AMD chips, at Vultr’s U.S. data centers. HPE said it was the first order for the new system.

HPE raised its fiscal 2027 revenue growth outlook for its networking segment to a high-teens to low-20% range. It also projected annual Data Center Networking revenue growth in the low- to mid-50% range through fiscal 2029, with operating margins in the mid- to high-20% range.

Analysts at Evercore ISI, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Truist and UBS raised their price targets after the outlook and order. CFO Marie Myers said demand continued to outpace supply and described the company’s environment as supply-constrained.
