RSM, Rillet Team Up on AI Finance Overhaul

The alliance combines Rillet’s accounting software with RSM’s advisory work, targeting faster closes and more automated finance operations.

RSM US and finance software company Rillet announced a strategic alliance on September 21 to help middle-market businesses modernize finance operations with AI. The firms said the work will focus on automating routine accounting, improving financial visibility and strengthening controls.

Rillet supplies an enterprise resource planning system, or ERP, for accounting and finance teams. Its features include a continuously updated general ledger, AI agents, revenue recognition tools and reporting across multiple entities, according to the companies.

RSM will advise clients on finance operating models, technology modernization, AI readiness and governance. The firms also plan to support organizational change, an important step when finance teams shift from manual processes to automated workflows.

The companies describe the expected benefits as faster month-end closes, less manual work and more current financial data. They did not disclose a rollout schedule, client commitments or financial terms, and gave no quantified targets for time or cost savings.

RSM partner Daniel Beil said the alliance is intended to help companies build the data foundation, controls and adoption plans needed for responsible AI use. Rillet chief executive Nicolas Kopp said the combination is designed to give finance teams greater speed and visibility.

The partnership gives Rillet access to RSM’s advisory and implementation work with middle-market companies. For RSM, it adds an AI-focused finance platform to its modernization offering, as businesses weigh how to update older accounting systems.

The deal follows Rillet’s August announcement of a $100 million Series C funding round at a $1 billion valuation, led by ICONIQ. The startup is privately held, so the alliance has no direct impact on a publicly traded Rillet stock.

The next test is whether joint client projects deliver measurable gains without weakening financial controls. The announcement did not name customers or describe planned implementations, leaving adoption and results as the key milestones to watch.
