TCW Bets on Venture Global as LNG Markets Tighten

The fund opened a position in the exporter and expects tight supply and new capacity to lift its cash flow and earnings.

TCW Relative Value Mid Cap Fund opened a position in Venture Global during the second quarter of 2026. The fund expects tighter LNG markets to support the company’s exports and financial growth.

In its investor letter, TCW pointed to damage to Qatar’s LNG infrastructure amid conflict in Iran, which it said has opened markets to available export capacity. It expects Venture Global to ship volumes near the high end of its capacity and at premium prices.

About 70% of Venture Global’s 2026 LNG cargoes are under contract at fixed liquefaction prices, according to the letter. TCW said it expects tight market conditions to persist for three to five years.

The fund also noted that Venture Global plans to expand its LNG export capacity by about 50% over the next few years. It believes the added capacity, arriving when demand is strong, could significantly improve cash flow, margins and earnings.

Venture Global closed at $12.64 on September 30, and the article said its shares had gained about 85% year to date.
