Lotus Bakeries is expanding production in North Carolina as part of a $577 million commitment to accelerate growth in global markets.

The company plans to invest around €500m ($576.3m) across the sites in Belgium, the US and Thailand by 2030.

The project will increase capacity at the Lembeke factory, which mainly supplies markets in Europe.
